Welcome to the LawMarketing Discussion List
The purpose of our discussion list is to compare notes and exchange information, so that we can be more effective in our jobs of promoting law firms. This is the place where you will find the newest ideas and most seasoned insight on every law firm marketing topic under the sun.
As a member, you will get about 5 to 15 E-mail messages a day from the discussion list. As a discussion list member, you agree to follow the following rules and you acknowledge that list owner, the Law Firm Marketing Institute, has the right to enforce them in its sole discretion. This means that if you, or anyone using your membership, violate the discussion list rules, we may take action against your account. This can range from a friendly warning to the termination of your account. (In the old days, someone would come over, tear your arm off and beat you with the bloody stump, but we've grown with the times.)
This is a nationwide discussion group. Please be careful what you say because you never know who's reading your message. Kindly note that we are NOT affiliated with the Legal Marketing Association.
I can't log in to my account. The Listserv Web site doesn't recognize me.
What is happening is that the Web interface at www.LawMarketing.biz is recognizing you by an old account or other email address you used. The Web system reads a "cookie" file placed on your hard drive to do this. Accordingly, you must clear off the cookies from your computer. To do this:
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Click on Tools, then Internet Options.
- In the Temporary Internet Files section, click on Settings.
- On the next screen, click on the View Files button.
- You'll see your cookies; there will be hundreds. Highlight them all (using Ctrl + A) and delete them all.
- Click OK to close all the screens.
Now go to the Listserv site: www.lawmarketing.biz and you'll be able to log in.
If you are on a MAC with Internet Explorer 5.0: In this version, the directions for deleting Cookies are as follows:
On top menu bar, go to Edit, then Preferences, then scroll down to Receiving Files, then Cookies under that. Then you highlight and delete specific ones or all as needed.
How to Send a Message
You must send your first message to the group within a few days of joining. To send a message to all the members of the LawMarketing Listserv, just address an email to: lawmarketing@lawmarketing.biz
This is called "sending mail to the list," because you send mail to the discussion list computer, which distributes a copy to all other members.
In your first message, tell us about yourself, your work and your favorite color, and then ask a question involving law firm marketing -- something you're working on now. Finally, sign your first message in the following format:
Your Name
Title
Firm/Employer
Mailing Address
E-mail Address
Tel/Fax Nos.
